Catherine Roberts Leach
An award winning fine art photographer, born in New York City, Catherine lived and worked in Los Angeles before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2017. Her work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in galleries across the United States from New York, D.C. and New Jersey, to Georgia, Virginia and Texas, to California, Oregon and New Mexico. Her work has been juried into competitions by such art notables as Chris Burden and Ruth Weisberg.
At the request of Yoko Ono, one of Catherine’s photographs was published on the cover page of the website, imaginepeace.com. In addition, her images have appeared in numerous literary journals and online publications.
Catherine is fortunate in being able to see improbable combinations that others may miss. She frequently captures unidentifiable and unusual surfaces, employing light and shadow, contrasting textures, and the juxtapositions of nature and built environments. Although digitally captured, the content of her photographs is never altered or manipulated. She appreciates most the times when her images look “created” but are, in fact, the complete truth.
